For dinner, enjoy a meal at BRene’s Kitchen for classic diner bites or swing by Comfort Pizza to try one of their specialty house pizzas. The slower pace of a small-town evening makes it easy to unwind and prepare for an early morning in the field. As the sun sets, keep an eye out for resident birds settling down on the scenic drive back.

Saturday: Birds, Beats, & Boutiques

Birders know that the best sightings often happen early, so start your day with coffee and a light breakfast before heading to James Kiehl River Bend Park. This beautiful riverside park is one of the area's premier birding destinations, featuring bird blinds and walking trails along the Guadalupe River. Another option includes the Riverside Nature Center which offers Bird Walk & Talks on the 3rd Saturday of every month along with other nature-centered weekend events.
